Dustin Johnson, another double major champion, added: "Playing 72 holes feels more akin to the big tournaments we're accustomed to." Johnson's last top-10 finish in a major dates back to 2023.
This decision presents a unique challenge for LIV Golf's public image. Greg Norman, O'Neil's predecessor, had previously explained the significance of the name 'LIV,' which stands for the Roman numeral 54, representing the lowest possible score on a par-72 course.
