LOUIS COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencySt. Louis County, MO (April 5, 2024): St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives and the Accident Reconstruction Unit are investigating a person fatally struck in the 9900 block of S. Broadway that resulted in the death of an adult male. At 10:37 a.m., St. Louis County police officers from the South County Precinct responded to a call for service for a crash with injuries in the 9900 block of S. Broadway. Officers observed a motor vehicle crash involving a person struck. Preliminary investigation has revealed a Cadillac was northbound on S. Broadway when the driver lost control and left the roadway, striking two construction workers who were working on the front of a building. The first construction worker, an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second construction worker, an adult male, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Cadillac was also transported for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be disseminated as it becomes available. BALLWIN POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencyWeekly Round Up! -Officers responded to a theft in progress. A local spotted a known suspect concealing alcohol. The suspect may have had a football career the way they handled the liquor bottle. The suspect slipped as they walked out the store. They managed to keep the glass bottle safe but at the cost of some scrapes on the hand and face. The suspect was charged with trespassing and stealing. -Officers responded to a reported theft from a local convenience store. The suspect is known as a frequent flier for thefts. The suspect had multiple reports in the last few weeks regarding their illegal activity. Officers spotted the getaway vehicle and were able to apprehend the suspect. The suspect was charged with stealing, possession drug paraphernalia, and a litany of traffic charges including but not limited to Driving while suspended, No insurance, Fail to Register, and much more. -Officers responded to a disturbance. An Amazon delivery driver decided it would be a great idea to take a lunch break in the middle of the roadway. A trash pick up service was driving their route, when it came to a screeching halt to a very large van parked in the middle of the road. The Amazon driver was refusing to move since they were on break. Officers were able to keep both parties calm and both went their separate ways. And Finally… -Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity. Two suspects were seen checking cars and pulling on door handles. Officers flooded the area, and spotted a vehicle that was abandoned, had a window busted out, and ignition punched out. Officers spotted two suspects, walking casually down the road that fit the description. Both suspects were arrested for Tampering and Possession of Burglar Tools. LOUIS COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencySt. Louis County, MO (April 6, 2024): On Saturday, April 6, 2024, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on suspects Deondre Robinson, 18, of the 2800 block of Innsbruck Drive, St. Louis, Missouri 63129 and Patrick Aten, 18, of the 100 block of Holden Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri 63125, each with Involuntary Manslaughter First Degree, and Assault Second Degree. Robinson was additionally charged with Operate Vehicle on Highway Without A Valid License – Class D Misdemeanor. Booking photos of Robinson and Aten are attached. Both are being held on $150,000 cash only, no 10%, bond. Please note, charges are merely an accusation and Defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law. The probable cause statement for both Robinson and Aten read: Defendants were racing each other and traveling at very high speeds down S. Broadway in St. Louis County. Defendant Robinson lost control of his vehicle and spun. Defendant Robinson's vehicle struck Christopher Johnson and Victim 2. Christopher Johnson was drug under Defendant Robinson's vehicle and was pronounced deceased upon police's arrival. Victim 2 suffered serious injuries including head lacerations and was conveyed to the hospital. Defendant Robinson did not have a valid driver's license. The deceased has been identified as Christopher Johnson, 34, of the 200 block of Pin Oaks Dr., Dittmer, Missouri. St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are leading this investigation.6Like3

BALLWIN POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencyWeekly Round Up! -In regards to the deceased body located in Vlasis Park, this is still an active investigation. At this time, the medical examiner is conducting their investigation. That being said, it will be a few weeks if not months before the medical examiner will have a report for us. The initial investigation has not revealed any signs of foul play. -Officers responded to a report of a vehicle into a building. A scary moment for all involved, but no one was hurt. The gas pedal appeared to get stuck, but fortunately there was a nice strong, steel pole to stop the vehicle rampage. -While patrolling the late night hours, an officer observed a vehicle traveling well above the speed limit. As the vehicle got closer, the speed was increasing as well as the engine roar. Officers initiated a traffic stop, and grabbed more paperwork. The road side investigation revealed our driver liked to utilize apps, but failed to comprehend simple instruction. The driver was arrested for Driving while Intoxicated, Driving Wrong Side of Roadway, No Insurance, and Speeding. And Finally… - Officers responded to a reported theft. The suspect proceeded to steal a very popular item, not just for kids, but adults as well. The suspect didn’t even attempt to hide or cheat the system. They proceeded to fill up the cart and quickly exited the store. Officers were enroute to a local convenience store, they spotted the suspect in a parking lot of a different store. An officer made contact with the original caller, and it turns out they didn’t steal from there due to an argument they had with the manager. Yet, just before the suspect was good to walk away, the store where they were spotted had the manager come running out. You guessed it…they stole some liquor. Officers slapped on the cuffs and shut the back door. Suspect was arrested and charged for stealing. -Officers took a report for leaving the scene of a traffic crash. In the late night hours, two vehicles met by crossing the centerline. One vehicle stopped, the other drove away as if maybe the meeting wasn’t meant to be. Officers were able to locate various car parts that were left behind like breadcrumbs. A few hours later, the vehicle was located and towed away. Surprisingly, the owner came forward, with an alibi. This is still being investigated. -Officers received a call for a vehicle on its side. In the early morning hours, there was loud commotion which woke everyone up. A vehicle had crashed and was now lying on its side. The neighbors came out, and HULKED out. Before officers were on scene, they flipped the car back over, but the driver immediately took off running. Officers located the suspect, and the suspect believed it was in their best interest to run and fight the officers. They were arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and resisting arrest. And Finally… -Officers took a report for fraud. Over the holidays, a resident wanted to go see the St. Louis Blues. The last second decision, led them to a Facebook group. The suspect failed to uphold their end of the deal. Fortunately for us, the reporter was smart and utilized a well known transaction servicer provider. BALLWIN POLICE DEPARTMENTa week agoAgencyWeekly Round Up! -Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a local business. A customer stated they wanted one thing, but received less than adequate results. Rather than approach the topic with a manager, they decided it would be in their best interest to cause a scene in the middle of the business. Officers were able to calm both parties down, and find a resolution for what transpired. -Officers responded to a report of harassment. A break up that appeared to have gone sour. The ex-boyfriend apparently, wasn't happy with how things ended, but it was time to move on. -Officers responded to a report of theft from a local business. The suspect believed they could hide an object in plain view. The one problem was this object appeared to be very large, and stood out on camera, when it wasn't scanned. After walking through all final points of purchase, they got into an unknown vehicle and drove away. The officer was able to track down the suspect, and submitted a Ballwin Municipal Warrant Application for charges. And Finally… -Don’t forget April 27th is National Drug Take Back. Any expired or unused medications can be dropped off. They will be destroyed at a later date, courtesy of the D.E.A.
